New User Setup Request

Procedure for requesting New User Access to SURS Systems (Onboarding):

  1. New User Setup Requests must be submitted by the new person's manager, HR or responsible party. Please fill out one ticket per user.

  2. Employees are assigned a unique user id and password to be used to access SURS systems. A default password will be assigned and must be changed at first sign on.

  3. IT will complete New Hire Task List.  

  4. Employee must set Outlook to allow all staff to view their Calendar.

  5. HR will ensure employee receives new hire training which includes SURS Security Policies.  Employee must sign off that they have read and understand SURS Security Policies. Form is located on SURS Intranet under Security / Policies - Security Policies Employee Sign-off.  This form is used by employees to acknowledge that they have read and understand SURS Security Policies. Signed forms are stored in Special Filing.

  6. HR will ensure that employees completes Security Awareness training within the required time frame designated by the State.  

Procedure for requesting New Consultant Access to SURS Systems (Onboarding):

  1. New Consultant Setup Requests must be submitted by a manager, HR or responsible party.   You may use one service ticket for all consultants from the same company as long as they require the same access, otherwise use a separate service ticket.

  2. For Vendor Access, IT will ensure that a Vendor Access Request (No VPN) or a Vendor VPN Request form is completed and attached to the ticket
     
  3. Consultants must complete SURS CyberSecurity Training. 

Note: New user setup takes approximately 1 week to complete.
